Cork International Choral Festival
Founded in 1954, envisioned to be a dynamic force in developing choral music in Ireland, the Cork International Choral Festival takes place in many venues across the city, including Cork’s iconic City Hall - one of the most attractive and acoustically superb venues in Ireland. Noted for its diverse programme, high competitive standards, excellent organisation, and the friendliness of its welcome, the festival is regarded as one of Europe’s premier international choral festivals.
The centrepiece of the festival is the choral competition that would award the best choir the prestigious "Fleischmann International Trophy". Choirs can also opt to perform non-competitively, at events like "Fringe Concerts", church and informal performances. A "Meet and Greet" session, as well as a "Festival Club", are also organised to allow participants to get to know each other and to meet in a friendly, social setting.
Early May every year.
